CW president Mark Pedowitz has defended the cancellation of Star-Crossed.
Speaking at Friday’s press tour, Pedowitz told reporters that while he appreciates fan efforts to save the show, “there just weren’t enough of them” to justify a second season, per TVLine:
“I did receive 90 boxes of pasta this week. We appreciate the fans and everything they do … but there just weren’t enough of them to keep the show going forward. We appreciate their passion for the show.”
Nevertheless, The CW ‘controversially’ renewed the even lower-rated Beauty and the Beast over both Star-Crossed and The Tomorrow People, citing larger digital and international presence.
