Hell On Wheels has been renewed for Season 4.
Not only is AMC bringing the Western serial back for a fourth season, it’s expanding the chapter for good measure – giving the creative team 13 episodes of story to work with (up from the usual 10) when the show returns next year.
Said AMC president Charlie Collier via statement:
“AMC has served passionate Western fans for three decades, so it is particularly gratifying to see these viewers capping off their Saturdays with an original Western on what has historically been a tough night of the week for television. Our commitment to the genre is unwavering and we look forward to continuing to super-serve this audience with an expanded fourth season of Hell on Wheels.”
Meanwhile, the fate of Low Winter Sun appears to be less certain, with an AMC representative noting that a decision has yet to be made on the freshman crime drama’s future.
Cast member James Ransone recently offered his bleak outlook on the show’s second-season chances.
