Three premieres, Two finales, and a raft of appointment TV instalments. Here’s a look at the Seriable TV shows we’ll be watching for the week September 26 – October 2, 2011.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26

TERRA NOVA 1.01 & 102 “GENESIS” — 8/7c ON FOX

Part 1: In the first part of the two-part series premiere, the police raid the Shannon home and arrest the father, Jim Shannon. Shannon realizes he must take drastic measures to keep his family together after his wife, Elisabeth, is selected to travel back to prehistoric times to create a new civilization and, hopefully, help change the future.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 27

RINGER 1.02 “IF YOU EVER WANT A FRENCH LESSON” — 9/8c on THE CW

Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar​​ ) learns she has a potential clue to bring her closer to Siobhan’s killer. Bridget discovers some interesting information about Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd​​), which causes tension between them. Meanwhile, Agent Machado (Nestor Carbonell​​) continues his pursuit of Bridget and tensions flare between Henry (Kristoffer Polaha​​) and Gemma (Tara Summers​​ ) over their investment in Andrew’s hedge fund. Mike Colter and Zoey Deutch also star. Allan Arkush directed the episode written by Hank Chilton.

SONS OF ANARCHY 4.04 “UNA VENTA” — 10 PM ON FX

The club makes a run to set up a new business venture; Gemma makes a new ally.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 29

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES 3.03 “THE END OF THE AFFAIR” – 8PM ON THE CW

THE ROARING TWENTIES — Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Stefan (Paul Wesley​) arrive in Chicago, where Stefan is reunited with a vampire (guest star Claire Holt, “Pretty Little Liars​”) who hasn’t really moved on from her interest in him decades earlier. In a flashback to Chicago in the 1920s, Stefan comes face-to-face with a shocking chapter from his wild past. After Damon (Ian Somerhalder​) gets a tip on Stefan and Klaus’ whereabouts from an unexpected source, he and Elena (Nina Dobrev​) follow their trail. Back in Mystic Falls, Tyler is concerned about Caroline and turns to Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre​) for help. Chris Grismer​ directed the episode written by Caroline Dries.

THE SECRET CIRCLE 1.03 “LONER” – 9PM ON THE CW

ADAM IS JEALOUS WHEN CASSIE BRINGS A DATE TO THE SCHOOL DANCE — A cute jock named Luke (guest star Zachary Abel​) asks Cassie (Britt Robertson) to the school dance, and after watching Adam (Thomas Dekker) spend time with Diana (Shelley Hennig​) at the boathouse, she accepts his offer. Meanwhile, Melissa (Jessica Parker Kennedy​) sees the dance as an opportunity to get closer to Nick (Louis Hunter). Faye (Phoebe Jane Tonkin), on the other hand, has no plans to go and remains focused on finding a way to control her powers. Dawn (Natasha Henstridge​) discovers someone from their past, an intense man named Zachary (guest star Dave Baez), is in town asking questions about the Cassie and the Circle, so she asks Charles (Gale Harold) to keep an eye on him. Colin Bucksey directed the episode written by Richard Hatem​.

PERSON OF INTEREST 1.02 “GHOSTS” — 9PM ON CBS

When they are given the Social Security number of a teenager who was killed two years ago, Reese and Finch begin to question the infallibility of The Machine. Meanwhile, Finch flashes back to The Machine’s origin and how it was developed, on PERSON OF INTEREST, Thursday, Sept. 29 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network​.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 30

NIKITA 2.02 “FALLING ASH” — 8PM ON THE CW

DEVON SAWA RETURNS AS OWEN — While investigating an old corrupt Division program, P9, that seems to have resurfaced, Nikita (Maggie Q) and Michael (Shane West​) run into Owen (guest star Devon Sawa). He tells them he is searching for Dr. Joseph Mars (guest star John Ralston), who is not only the mastermind behind P9, but also invented the Regimen and could help Owen wean himself off the dangerous drug. Michael is hesitant to trust Owen again but Nikita decides the three should join forces. Percy (Xander Berkeley​) demands to see Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca​). Aaron Stanford​ and Melinda Clarke​ also star. Eagle Egillson directed the episode written by Kalinda Vazquez.

SUPERNATURAL 7.02 “HELLO, CRUEL WORLD” — 9PM ON THE CW

SAM HAS FLASHBACKS FROM HELL — Castiel (Misha Collins​) continues to struggle with the burdens that come with his new-fangled power. The broken wall in Sam’s (Jared Padalecki​) head causes him to have hallucinations, and he has difficulty discerning what’s real and what’s not. Bobby (Jim Beaver​) worries that Dean is beginning to stumble under the weight of fighting Castiel and keeping an eye on Sam. Guy Bee directs. Written by Ben Edlund.

FRINGE 4.02 “ONE NIGHT IN OCTOBER” — 9PM ON FOX

A SERIAL KILLER FORCES THE TWO FRINGE TEAMS TO WORK TOGETHER ON AN ALL-NEW “FRINGE” FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, ON FOX

As the victims of a highly intelligent serial killer “Over There” stack up, the Fringe Division “Over Here​” is asked to assist. As the two sides tangle and innocent people remain at risk, the suspect’s doppelganger “Over Here,” a professor who teaches Forensic Psychology, is brought into the fold and forces the team to consider the notion of sending civilians to the other side in the all-new “One Night in October” episode of FRINGE airing Friday, Sept. 30 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. SATURDAY OCTOBER 1

MERLIN “THE DARKEST HOUR” — 7.50PM BBC ON ONE

Merlin faces his toughest challenge yet when Morgana’s blinkered determination threatens not only Arthur’s future, but also the very balance of the world. With her magic stronger than ever, the sorceress summons the mighty Callieach to tear open the veil between the worlds.

Hellish creatures pour forth, killing all who succumb to their touch. With Uther a shadow of his former self, it falls to Arthur and his loyal knights, including Lancelot, to protect the kingdom.

But it will take more than just swords to vanquish their enemy and Merlin is shocked to the core when he discovers the only way to restore the equilibrium requires a sacrifice of unimaginable proportions…

DOCTOR WHO 6.13 “THE WEDDING OF RIVER SONG” — 9/8C ON BBC AMERICA

As the Doctor makes his final journey to the shores of Lake Silencio in Utah, he knows only one thing can keep the universe safe – his own death – in the concluding episode of this series of the time-travelling drama. But has he reckoned without the love of a good woman?

Doctor Who fans can also enjoy an extra helping of the Time Lord’s adventures in a special, one-off mini episode written by schoolchildren in Doctor Who Confidential on BBC Three tonight.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 25

BOARDWALK EMPIRE 2.02 “OURSELVES ALONE” — 9PM ON HBO

When realizing that he might be losing control over Atlantic City, Nucky tries to figure out which one of his men betrayed him. When agents search the Treasurer’s Office for evidence, Margaret tries to dig into her past to help Nucky in the present. In New York, Rothstein puts Jimmy on hold, but Meyer Lansky and Lucky Luciano still look to be business partners. Chalky faces problems in prison with inmate Dunn Purnsley, who has an ax to grind. Owen Sleater, a man working for John McGarrigle, looks at the Thompson residence. Finally, the Commodore decides to introduce Eli to the men who made Atlantic City.

DEXTER 6.01 “THOSE KIND OF THINGS” — 9PM ON SHOWTIME

Dexter Morgan attends his 20th high school reunion; Dexter considers his son’s legacy; Debra becomes an unexpected hero.

BREAKING BAD 4.12 “END TIMES” – 10PM ON AMC

Hank pushes Gomez and the DEA to pursue a lead. Jesse gets alarming news while Walt struggles to protect his family.
