It’s finally Touch-down for the new Kiefer Sutherland-starring series, but what did you make of the special pilot preview? A procedural with secret seriable ambitions? A waste of a high-concept? A touching but ultimately flaky rendition?

Touch 1.01 Pilot

Just a stolen idea from the show Person of Interest…

I generously gave it a seven, it certainly did not come up to the level of the Lost pilot or The Battlestar Galactica Mini series which are the two pilots I compare any other pilot to now.
However you can’t judge a show by it’s pilot case in point Fringe!

I liked it but felt the stories of the “connectees” were rushed. The Baghdad story was weakest; the man who lost his cell phone (with dead daughter’s pictures) at the beginning was by far the most emotionally engaging. Now that the premise of the show has been explained, I would hope they’ll be able to spend more time in developing the stories/characters they plan to connect at the end.

It really doesn’t seem very “seriable” to me.

I enjoyed the Pilot, but they are going to have their hands full keeping this fresh every week if they insist on a standalone format. Right now, it looks to me like we could be locked in an endless loop where maybe the stakes get higher as the season progresses. Hard to imagine a kid with skills like this and no Big Bad to take down in a thrilling 2-part season finale. Whoa! I got carried away there.

I didn’t even bother watching it … didn’t even DVR it. There is no way this concept can work without seriability and their comments against seriability don’t make any sense.
Um … 24 had EIGHT SEASONS, hello!
And Heroes was seriability done wrong. It is Tim that messed up seriability, it is not seribility that messed up Heroes.

And the title of the show is lame. Touch? Meh!

Really?? Are you serious? How can you judge the pilot just by the concept?? If u jdge every series for its concept its all lame. You have to have in mind the cinematography, the editing, the music, the acting and the screenplay.
Lets see some famous shows and their concepts:
Heroes – Guys with super powers (how original).
Lost – Guys stuck in an island (i can watch survivor instead)
House – An obnoxious doctor (Watch Out We Got A Badass Over Here)
Can you now see my point?
