THE WALKING DEAD: Andrew Lincoln Teases Governor/Rick Showdown

Andrew Lincoln has supported previous comments from David Morrissey about the unexpected collision between Rick and the Governor when The Walking Dead resumes its third season on Feb. 10.

Speaking to TV Guide, Lincoln teased:

”It’s a wrestling match that is very internalized, even with his very physical wrestling match with the Governor. If ever he wanted to try to take the prison or prey on Rick’s weaknesses, the Governor couldn’t have found a better time.”

Of the two leader’s eagerly-awaited showdown, Lincoln adds that it “doesn’t go in a way that is at all obvious.”

Given that Lincoln mentions the Governor possibly taking advantage of Rick’s mental state, are we looking at another hallucinatory sequence, or will their meeting merely unfold in a surprising way? Could we be looking at a combination of both, where the Governor captures and tortures Rick?

  2. It’s hard to know because we don’t know who they’re talking to when they say it’s not going to be like most of US (the fans) expect it to be. He could be talking to those who are waiting for a big punch and kicks fight or he could as well be talking to those that are waiting for a verbal discussion (I include myself on this team, although I’m referring to the first face-to-face. Later I wouldn’t mind to see a psychical fight)

  3. Also, it’s very intresting the hallucination idea, but Rick hasn’t never seen the Governor, am I right? I mean, he wouldn’t be able to imagine him… Unless it’s with another figure and such.
