The Episode titles and story details for the final 5 episodes of The Walking Dead‘s second season have arrived to tease the trajectory to the third season.

Spoiler alert — do not read if you don’t want to know anything about the upcoming episodes!

Take a look at the upcoming episode titles along with their outlines (and air dates where mentioned) below:

2.09 “Triggerfinger“: Rick, Hershel and Glen are trapped and fight to survive; Shane finds Lori in danger. Premieres Feb 19

2.10 “18 Miles Out“: Rick and Shane are in conflict over the fate of an outsider; Andrea helps Hershel’s daughter face a crucial decision. Premieres Feb 26

2.11 “Judge, Jury, Executioner“: Rick sides with Shane causing Dale to worry that the group is losing its humanity; Carl’s actions have unintended consequences.

2.12 “Better Angels“: Someone dangerous may be loose near the farm; Rick, Shane, Daryl and Glenn keep the group safe.

2.13 “Beside The Dying Fire“: Rick and Carl find the farm in jeopardy; the group is split up in the chaos; Rick’s leadership is questioned.

Not a great deal to go on but certainly enough to give a general sense of where the second-half of the season is heading. Key points for me are the continuing conflict between Rick and Shane (we already know this to be the touchstone of the season); the introduction of various ‘outsiders’; Rick siding with Shane over an issue which brings his humanity (and that of the group) in question; Carl doing something that has unintended consequences (shooting someone, as hinted in the new promo?); and the group getting split in the finale, leaving us with Rick’s leadership abilities in doubt.

Before the action in these episodes, we of course have the midseason premiere to look forward to. “Nebraska” will see the immediate aftermath of Sophia’s demise — catch it 9/8c, Feb 12, AMC.

I dunno, i think S2 started off well, but soon got very thin story- and locationwise.
5 episodes on a farm where the only thing that lives is lots of dialogue, is weak writing in my opinion. The series started very strong in S1, and every episode had just the right amount of story, storytelling, the right locations and action.

For now, we’ve only seen the highway, a riverside and the farm. Oh, and a store visited more then once… Question: why not loot the store in one go? S2 is weak, very weak, compared to S1.

I really hope the pass will pick up the final 5 episodes this season, or i’m affraid lots of people will lose interest. Or, perhaps, a better zombie-series comes along. Who knows? I still like the show, but the story is spread very, very thin…

I think we can all agree that season 2.5 looks like it is going to be more action-packed. Even the episode descriptions are getting me pumped.
