New poster art for ABC‘s midseason supernatural thriller The River a-peers online. Hunter? Hunted? The mystery of the Amazon awaits..
The River, an 8-episode midseason replacement for ABC, comes from Paranormal director Oren Peli, exec producer Michael Green and writer Michael R. Perry (it’s also another Steven Spielberg-related project). The thriller revolves around a documentary crew searching the Amazon for a beloved nature-explorer and television host. It doesn’t tell us much about the story, but it supplements the senses as to what kind of show it will be. The owner of this reflective eye is scared, hiding from something, his concealed face doesn’t prevent his peeper from conveying terror. But are we really spying the hunted? In terms of seriability, the producers say River is somewhat like The X-Files, in that there are episodic mysteries along with an ongoing story.
