Fans of AMC‘s The Killing may have to wait a while before discovering the identity of Rosie’s murderer.
Spoiler report follows — stop reading if you don’t like potential spoilers!
That’s according to the January issue of Written By, a profile of The Killing creator Veena Sud concludes with the message that Rosie’s killer won’t be revealed until the end of the upcoming second season. Sud is quoted as saying “this is not a committee thing” — in reference to the section of dissatisfied fans who were frustrated that Sud and her writing team chose not to resolve the central mystery by the end of the season.
Sud explained her stance to the magazine’s Louise Farr:
“I wanted to tell The Killing with the rhythm and tones of everyday life, the hesitations, and the silences, and the not-knowing-what-to-say. The messiness and unstructured way of people who I think sometimes we aren’t encouraged to do in TV. We are encouraged to connect the dots with straight lines, and not take detours or go off in tangents that are messy and nonlinear.”
The article says that certain comments were so nasty that Sud stopped looking on the Internet. However, she outlined her intention to tell the story that feels right to her and her staff:
“Our intent was not to mislead or betray. We talked about the fans, and their passion, and all of the stuff that was being said on the internet. But the bottom line is, we close the door and we’re a bunch of people in the room, and our job was, and continues to be, to tell the story that feels right by us.”

Sud has already confirmed that the second season will also feature a second case. If the time-frame on the Rosie resolution is accurate, it will be interesting to see how they interweave the two storylines over the course of the season.
As we previously reported Mark Moses has signed up for Season 2, which will begin in the Spring.

This sounds all too familiar. LOST? Fringe? Twin Peaks? Dexter? This is starting to piss people off in a bad way. Mystery-Myth fans can only take so much teasing before eyes start rolling. Well at least this one that is.

Oh come on! What a bunch of BS. I was sort of looking forward to the new season, but if they’re going to waste my time for another 13 episodes I will not even bother. Hope AMC cancels it.
