In addition to teaming with Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan for Proof, Syfy have also ordered a 90-minute pilot for High Moon, an adaptation of John Christopher‘s young adult novel, The Lotus Caves.
The project, which has been in development for 2 years, will be helmed by Bryan Fuller and Jim Danger Gray of Pushing Daisies, as well as veteran producer Robert Halmi Sr., Deadline understands.
The novel is set in the future, when humans have formed colonies on Earth and begin to mine resources on the moon. The discovery of a new life form leads to choas, exploitation and powerful secrets.
Syfy’s president original content Mark Stern said
“This is a fresh and compelling vision of an exotic new world driven by character, intrigue and greed.”
