As expected, Sherlock season 2 will anchor the PBS winter/spring schedule.

The much-anticipated second season of the BBC’s Sherlock — starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson — will premiere on PBS May 6 at 9PM.

The reimagined detective series is slated to premiere earlier in 2012 on the BBC.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson’s adventures in 21st Century London. A thrilling, funny, fast-paced contemporary remake of the Arthur Conan Doyle classic.

As a Sherlock Holmes fan, my expectations were not high for a modernized remake. I was pleasantly surprised that the first season immediately became one of my favorites. Looking forward to a second season and hoping that the show can maintain the quality of the previous season.

We don’t want to lose PBS . . . of the good old days PBS . . . but the idiots running the show this last decade . . . particularly the last few years . . . aren’t making it easy to support. Of course we, in the Kalamazoo area, are forced to take what the Grand Rancid station allows us to see . . . or else.

I’m sorry PBS . . . but you edited-down the first season of DOWNTON ABBEY
(we had to buy the the DVD set to view the whole series) and we’re not sure if we will be getting the full second season.

And we’re not sure of how full the second season of SHERLOCK HOLMES will be, either!

BUT I can tell you this PBS: if you cut one second out of SHERLOCK or DOWNTON you can kiss our ___ goodbye.

Jolly Ho!
