Welcome once again to Serialized Bites. A round-up of digestible news and tidbits from the world of serialized television that didn’t quite make our front page over the past few days.

Today we have news from True Blood, The Walking Dead, Torchwood, V and FlashForward. Yes, FlashForward!

Spoilers marked in red.

Wondering whether Snoop D-O-double-giz-ee would get his wish to appear on an episode of True Blood (following his tribute to Sookie Stackhouse)? Well, according to TB’s Sam Tremmell, that doesn’t look like happening anytime soon:

“Apparently Snoop has wanted to be on the show from the beginning,” Trammell said to the 250 convention attendees, ”but I don’t think Alan Ball is going to let that happen. Having such a high profile person appear in the show, I think it would take us all out of Bon Temps. He doesn’t need to cast Snoop Dogg to get people to watch.”

But he also added : ”We’re glad he watches and likes the show though.”

The Walking Dead Cinematographer, David Boyd, knows a thing or two about danger. He spoke to AMC about how he helps bring the show to life:

Q: What kind of visual tricks do you use to enhance this feeling of danger?

A: Just to play it as normal as possible, and prey on the fact that everyone knows that it’s scary [Laughs]. We do tricks like we make it a little cooler — like the warmth has disappeared from the world. And we use film so that the blues come out a little stronger, but I’m trying hard to keep it purely on a psychological level. Also, it’s normal policy to make a camera perfectly level with the horizon, but not here. We don’t do the obvious tilt left or right, but all things are a little bit off. My aim is to make it off-kilter enough to where there’s just something subconsciously wrong with every image — it starts to become a world where nothing’s right.

The US Torchwood gets a new name:

Starz’ “Torchwood” reboot will be titled “Torchwood: The New World” and creator Russell T Davies gave some insight into the storyline.

The new story will follow a CIA agent (Rex) and analyst (Ester) who tackle an alien-related global issue. Torchwood, having been destroyed and disbanded, is “like a legend now … it’s like something that’s ceased to exist and is now spoken of only in whispers.” Soon, Rex and Ester are on the run and are seeking out the help of Captain Jack and Gwen.

“The two teams coming together is a big part of the story — are they friends or enemies? There’s a lot of sparks and excitement.”

“We definitely have a really big story to tell,” added executive producer Julie Gardner. “It’s absolutely rebooted to welcome in a new audience.”

And here are two Torchwood promotional posters from the recent TCA:
