Seriable Bites are stories and tidbits from the world of serialized TV that didn’t quite make the front page of Seriable.com over the past few days.

Today’s Bites include: Once Upon A Time, Grimm, Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Terra Nova, and Fringe.

May contain mild spoilers..

ONCE UPON A TIME

Meet the characters..

Casting: Emma Caulfield (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) has landed a role on Once Upon A Time — she’ll play the “incredibly scary and frightening” Blind Witch from Hansel and Gretel, who appears in the ninth episode of the show’s debut season. [TV Line]

GRIMM

Teasers..

Executive Producer-Writer David Greenwalt talks Grimm..

GAME OF THRONES

Casting: Rose Leslie (Downtown Abbey) has snagged the key role of a Wildling woman that Jon Snow meets during his time beyond the Wall. Ygritte is described as “strong-willed, witty, skilled in battle and survival in the wilderness. An unconventional beauty, skinny but strong with red hair (which the Wildlings consider ‘kissed by fire’).”[EW]

THE WALKING DEAD

Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker), who went missing in Season 1 after chopping off his hand, could return in the November 13 episode, according to TV Guide. The episode centers around Merle’s brother, Daryl. Norman Reedus offers the following tease:

“It’s pretty much all Daryl on his own, in a hard-core man-versus-world psychological [quest] with inner turmoil and hints of ‘Deliverance. You’ll learn about his family and what it was like for him growing up, constantly put down and under the thumb of other people. You’ll see him make some hard decisions and announce where his loyalties lie.”

As much of an ass as Merle is, he’s still my big brother. But if I knew he was coming back, I couldn’t tell you.”

TERRA NOVA

The FOX series stomps to New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 15 at 11am in the IGN Theater at the Javits Center in New York City for a fan Q&A moderated by TV Guide Magazine senior editor Rich Sands. Lucky attendees will also be treated to an advanced screening of the upcoming episode “The Runaway“. [TV Guide]

FRINGE

John Noble talks to Futon Critic about Season 4 – excerpt follows:

So since Peter has disappeared from Walter’s memories, how has that effected who Walter is since the series started with Walter and Peter renewing their relationship. Is he a different Walter?

JN: What you’ll see is a Walter that is pretty much a product that came out of St. Claire’s [mental hospital] and so he’s still partially functional. He has some OCD characteristics, he’s agoraphobic, he’s more erratic and he’s more what you could call mad. He has no love in his life, if you will, so we see this man who is still very clever but not too loveable but that will come back in time and that is what will happen as Peter comes back in his life.

And what is the relationship with Olivia based on what you just said about who Walter is now?

JN: Walter has a lovely relationship with Olivia in these new episodes, which I’m very pleased with and, of course, always with Astrid. What we don’t know – and this is strange metaphysical stuff – but do you ever think to yourself ‘I have everything I want but I have this longing. I don’t know what it is but I have a longing.’ This kind of longing for these characters is Peter and this is the first time I’ve said this to anyone else.
