Viewers who stayed up/in on Saturday night for the planned 6-minute Revolution preview were left disappointed that it wasn’t televised.
NBC initially said the teaser for the upcoming JJ. Abrams and Eric Kripke series would air “at approximately 10:54 p.m. (ET) following the swimming competition that is expected to feature U.S. gold medalist swimmer Michael Phelps.” Per Deadline, a source inside the network explained that scheduling of on-air promos is flexible during live events such as the Olympic Games.
NBC now plan to air an “extended Revolution preview” (2.40 in length) during tonight’s Games coverage as they anticipate a larger audience than they ultimately received on Saturday. Will lightning strike twice? Fingers crossed they don’t pull the plug this time.
