It’s that time of year when the networks and studios make tweaks to their newly-picked up series. This includes NBC’s Revolution, which is phasing out one character and reworking another.
Andrea Roth (Ringer) will not survive the Revolution after her character, Rachel, mother of two of the leads, is being phased out. Meanwhile, the character Maggie played in the pilot by Anna Lise Phillips will no longer be regular. Phillips is expected to do several episodes to wrap the character’s storyline.
It’s difficult to say how this will affect the story since we’ve barely seen a lick of it. That said, these kind of tweaks are par for the course — see Alcatraz and Terra Nova as recent examples of characters in pilots who suddenly disappeared post-pilot.
Speaking of ‘Traz, Jeananne Goossen (who played Nikki), will be departing FOX’s new serial killer drama The Following.
Revolution from JJ. Abrams and Eric Kripke follows a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist. The series will air on NBC on Mondays at 10pm this fall.
