At this week’s TCA, in explaining the demise of Lone Star and promoting the shows on his network, Fox Entertainment President, Kevin Reilly said, “I don’t believe for a second that all the great shows are on cable.”
In terms of seriable television shows – do you think he’s right, or is he in denial?
Are all the great serialized TV shows on cable – does that medium lend itself better to long form storytelling, character exploration, and mythological adventure? Or does broadcast television still hold enough gems of its own for this not to be the case?
