Monique Gabriela Curnen (Lie To Me) has joined the untitled Roland Emmerich ABC drama. The project centers on Carter (Max Thieriot), an astrophysics grad student in NYC who learns that he is the chosen one to destroy the forces of evil. Julia Stiles has been cast as the lead in NBC pilot Midnight Sun. She’ll play Leah Kafka, a female FBI cult specialist leading the investigation that uncovers a larger conspiracy. The River‘s Paul Blackthorne has landed a co-starring role in the CW drama pilot Arrow where he’ll play Det. Quentin Lance, the father of Oliver Queen’s love interest Laurel (Katie Cassidy), a gruff, determined city detective who believes true justice can only come from law and order. He’s charged with bringing the vigilante known as The Arrow to justice. Jamey Sheridan has also been tapped to play the likely recurring role of Robert Queen, Oliver’s father. [Deadline]
