Once Upon A Time‘s Mysterious Stranger is now only half as mysterious. We’ve got hold of the rugged writer’s much sought-after name, while new info on the mentioned — but as yet seen — Frederick also surfaces.

Spoiler Alert — do not continue if you don’t want to know the name of The Stranger!

According to TV Guide, Eion’s Bailey’s oh so Mysterious Stranger is called… August W. Booth. Whether that sticks or not we’ll have to see, but as you know, all you need is a name.

Also revealed in the TV Guide listing is the Storybrooke counterpart of the hapless Frederick, who makes his on-screen debut in the upcoming “What Happened To Frederick.” His name isn’t listed, but we do know that he’s a Gym teacher portrayed by Greyston Holt. Surely this will inform his role in the fairytale land that was prior to his seeming demise (as referenced in Episode 6, “The Shepherd”).

Could he be one of the Brothers Grimm?

I think he is Maleficent. His choice in wardrobe is black pink purple (c ep 2). The black bike is the unicorn. MALE BIG CLUE. August means magnificent. And that is a great play on words. The EQ said their was something familiar about about him. They we’re frienimes. I know its kinda weird that he flirts with Emma but the mannerisms are the same. And how do we know what all the baddies are doing? Rumps can leave (he got Henry). Maleficent I knee what wad going down with the Curse….

I think Frederick is a stablehand that Abigail is in love with. I think the stranger is either Pinocchio ( Booth/Wardrobe) or possibly Robin Hood (being involved with the Sheriff and all.) I’m pretty stuck on Pinocchio though.

After watching the episode, finding out his name, and seeing what he was up to. I would be confident enough to bet my BF that he is supposed to be this man

Mr. William Booth…a forger.

Though Maleficent would be interesting as well, lol.

I don’t think it’s Maleficent. I was thinking one of the Grimm brothers too. Didn’t they already have a Maleficent, played by Kristen Bauer in Episode 2, who the Evil Queen (Regina) goes to get the curse from.

Another William Booth was the founder of the Salvation Army, born in *Nottingham*, died in August. Thought that was interesting…the lead to Nottingham.

I’m hoping he’s Mr Gold’s son, who also writes the book. Then his ability to leave only if he returns could be a condition of Mr Gold’s arrangement with Regina. Or part of the agreement on how to get a son for her.
