Once Upon A Time has a town to fill ahead of the fantasy’s second season, so it’s no surprise to see another piece of casting information. However, is the arrival of True Blood and Terriers’ Michael Raymond-James more significant than it seems?
Entertainment Weekly were the first to break the news that Raymond-James will feature in the ABC seriable’s upcoming second season in a recurring role.
Intriguingly, his role is shrounded in secrecy, described only as a “mysterious character” (remember August’s initial description?), which might mean the producers want to keep the cat in the bag.
Given the cloak and dagger nature of the description, we think it might be worth putting a few Storybrooke dollars on Raymond-James playing an adult Baelfire, the long lost son of Rumplestiltskin.
Bae was last seen falling down a giant green portal to a world apparently without magic (possibly Earth) and it has been at the heart of Rumples’ motivation to find him ever since. Indeed, Bae is a big reason why the curse to end all curses exits in the first place.
And then there’s the possibility of Raymond-James playing Henry’s (apparently not-so-heroic) father. Let the speculation begin.
Once Upon A Time has also cast Irish actor Colin O’Donoghue as Captain Hook.
