The drama continues this Sunday on Falling Skies with the second part of “Sanctuary”. Take a look at what the 7th Mass has in store for their new guests with this new sneak peek from TNT.
It should be interesting to find out more on the deal the 7th Mass have with the aliens. I’m assuming they get to keep their own kids if they give them a number of others. Oh the morality. Or lack of it.
I’m also interested in the ‘bond’ the harnessed kids have with the Skitters (even once the harness has been removed). We saw evidence that attachment when Hal silent-killed his way to rescuing Ben in 1.05. Clearly the Skitters are capable of compassion, or something like it. And Ben and silent Rick seem to miss them.
Yet, we’ve also seen Skitters mow down a bunch of kids to deliver a message to those pesky humans. Not surprising given the context, but hopefully we’ll find out more on the aliens and their relationship with the kids in the coming episodes.

I think the kids in each group are tied to each other somehow. I am not sure how. But they are made to be a group. If you take one out of the group only, you destroy the whole group. That is what I think the skitter was trying to say when they took just the one kid but left his group. They thought it was more humane to kill them all, and send it as a message that this is what happens.
A kind of twisted way of thinking, but these are aliens so their thought pattern is not going to be like ours. So, that is what I am trying to do here. Not explain their thinking or explain away that death-squad. But to see what they were doing.
There also seems more to them taking the kids. Lots of questions. Why do that to the kids and use them as slave labor for them/soldier drones against the humans? Why go to all that trouble and upset the left-over humans? What do they need the labor for? Why form such bonds with from their side is an alien race, a DANGEROUS unpredictable childish race at that?
anyway …. lots of questions and philosophizing. I am not completely hooked by the show yet, but I am still interested. Who does perfect their first season? It takes awhile to get your rhythm and hit something even more special than what you started out with (yes, I am looking at you X-Files and FRINGE).
