If you enjoyed the spiritual elements on LOST, you might be interested in Carlton Cuse‘s next project with ABC.
Cuse, one half of the LOST showrunning duo that was ‘Dalton’, has landed a deal with ABC to write and exec produce a potential new show called Stronger.
Vulture understand that the project is about a musician named Tom Stronger (ha!) who ends up becoming a benefactor and spiritual guide. The project is loosely based on the life of bestselling author Rob Bell (“Love Wins”), who will write the pilot with Cuse and also exec produce.
Stronger is expected to explore religious themes without being too on-the-nose. It will apparently contain a narrative twist that will make it a bit unconventional, but details are rightly being kept under wraps at this stage.
How seriable? I wouldn’t expect Cuse to go for another densely woven serial in the immediate aftermath of LOST, so I have doubts that it will fall on the high point of the seriable spectrum. We’ll keep you posted though.
