[tps_title]DEATH, OR WORSE…[/tps_title]
- Double death at the hatch in this episode (yes, this is a House reference). Ana-Lucia has already lost her life in Two For The Road, but for some reason, Libby’s death just had to be more gory and brutal. And that for a character whose storyline was anything but brutal.
- There’s nothing Jack can really do about Libby’s fate, except make her comfortable. This requires the drugs Mr. Eko brought to the island. When Eko told his brother in the flashbacks from The 23rd Psalm that he was simply making sure no one would use the heroin by transporting it out of Nigeria, he was apparently telling the truth. After all the trouble the Virgin Mary statues have caused, the heroin was actually only used for good. So, that’s one thing we can be happy about.
- When Hurley comes to say goodbye to Libby, a wide shot shows them and the washer and dryer where they had a moment together in Fire + Water.
- Libby will make another appearance this season in Desmond’s flashback episode, Live Together, Die Alone. It’s the third of four times that Libby will appear in someone else’s flashback. While we won’t learn anything new about her past after this season, Libby does make more appearances in Meet Kevin Johnson, Everybody Loves Hugo and The End. Rest in peace, Elizabeth. We barely knew you.
