JJ. Abrams is coming to the CW. The LOST and Fringe co-creator is teaming with One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn for a new Hotel drama.
The show, tentatively titled Maine, is set at an inn in, you guessed it — Maine — and centers on the staff and the inn’s guests.
Abrams and Schwahn will executive produce with Bryan Burk for Warner Bros. TV, Abrams’ studio-based Bad Robot and Schwahn’s Mastermind Laboratories. Schwahn will also write the show, which has received a script commitment.
Deadline believe the character-based drama will have the feel of Schwahn’s OTH, which will end its nine-year run early next year, and Abrams’ Felicity.
As you’d expect with any JJ. Abrams project, there’s not much to go on at this stage, but it seems as though it could have seriable potential, even though the vague outline isn’t the most exciting we’ve ever heard (that could all change, of course). We’ll keep you posted on Maine developments.

I’m sure Larry and the Daryls are up for it.
That press release must have been censored cuz I couldn’t find the part that made it sound interesting. I like the sound of JJ’s “Revolution” (cuz who isn’t up for an ‘epic adventure thriller”?) a little better, but of course, details are sketchy.
Full marks to NBC for taking another flyer on Bad Robot, though. I assume the motto over at NBC is “if you throw enough s*** at the wall, some of it’s bound to stick.”

Agreed. Details are likewise thin on “Revolution”, but I’ll buy the action-adventure Bad Robot ticket for a dollar.

One Tree Hill sucked after Season 4 – but maybe with JJ’s influence this may have the brilliance of the earlier OTH and early days of Lost and Alias.
