American Horror Story‘s Kate Mara and Kristen Connolly (The Cabin In The Woods) have been cast in David Fincher’s Netflix drama House Of Cards.

The political thriller, based on Michael Dobbs’ novel and the 1990 British series it birthed, stars Kevin Spacey as  Rep. Frank Underwood, the Chief Whip of the US House of Representatives who, after getting over-looked for Secretary of State, devises a plot to sink the new President.

As reported by Deadline, Mara will play Zoe Barnes, a reporter for a top Washington newspaper who, desperate for a break, makes a deal with Underwood for a scoop that could cost her very soul. She joins Spacey and fellow lead Robin Wright who plays Underwood’s wife.

Meanwhile, Kristen Connolly will recur as the stubborn executive assistant of another Congressman.

House Of Cards is one of Seriable.com’s most anticipated serial dramas for 2012. We’ll keep you posted on further developments.
