Homeland has promoted two of its recurring cast to series regulars for Season 2.
Navid Negahban, who plays terrorist Abu Nazir, and David Marciano who always has Carrie’s back as Virgil, will feature more prominently in the second season of the Showtime serial.
Reflecting on the show’s breakout success, Negahban told TV Line:
“The [Homeland] writers and creators have been very brave to tackle a subject that everybody thinks about but nobody talks about…. At the end, it raises the question, Who is your hero? Who is your villain? And that’s what I love about the show.”
Season 2 will pick-up shortly after the events in “Marine One,” with the producers activating a time-jump to “put the characters in different places.” We also know that new arrivals will enter the fray — particularly on the CIA side of things — while the Brody and Carrie relationship will remain the center of the story.
Shooting for the second season of Homeland gets underway in May.
