HBO’s fantasy favorite Game Of Thrones sliced into its second season with numbers big enough to justify the enormous marketing push and suggest an imminent third season renewal.
3.9 million viewers pledged their allegiance at 9PM on Sunday, easily surpassing the series’ previous high delivered by the Season 1 finale in June (3 million).
The second season premiere was up 74% vs. Game Of Thrones‘ series opener last year, and 27% up on the finale.
Taking the three Thrones airings on Sunday, the premiere totaled 6.3 million viewers. War is coming, so is a third season with those numbers.
