FRINGE: JJ. Abrams Will Do Everything In His Power To Direct An Episode In Season 5

Producer JJ. Abrams has given Fringe a shot in the arm by talking passionately about the ratings-deprived sci-fi series and his desire to direct an episode if the show nabs a fifth season.

FOX’s Ari Margolis recently interviewed JJ. Abrams — find out what the Bad Robot leader had to say about Fringe in the player below:

Interesting to see Abrams talk so endearingly about Fringe here. While it’s certainly in his interests to do so, it’s good to see him put a warm and tender arm around a show that could use a hug or forty-seven.

While a fifth season is not very tangible at this point, from my perspective, it would be great to have Abrams direct an episode. He didn’t come back to direct an episode of LOST, but he directed the break-out pilot and the circumstances were different. Let’s hope Abrams gets his wish as far as Fringe goes because you know it would be a great episode, and — you know — Season 5.

Funny how the image when JJ was talking about Walter being a teddy bear was when he’s deceiving Astrid to go meet August. Quite the teddy bear!

Having not read but the headline as of yet. My question is: Does everything in his power include funding season 5 so that there is one? Please Please Please!!!

I really like JJ! If I were a Hollywood guy I’d wanna be friends with him. Could you imagine his Fringe parties?

PLEASE KEEP THIS SHOW ON THE AIR!!!!

Even with all the recent EP interviews I still love this show despite them.

Hate to say this, but it may be too little too late.
I will keep my fingers crossed for J.J. to lend a helping hand if there is a 5th .

You want a season 5, Abrams? Why don’t you cough up some money and pay for it?

As much money as Abrams may have, I very much doubt that he could cover the cost of carrying an entire season’s expenses — or that he would be willing to, even if he could.

I’m guessing he doesn’t love the show that much.

Do we really even want another season? Do we really want the ignominy of a season 5 where the ratings get so bad it’s canned halfway through? If the quality of the writing continues to deteriorate, will we even care?

Let it end now, in this season, while there’s still a chance it can go out with a bang.
