More evidence that Flesh and Bone has been cancelled before the dance?
Starz will release the ‘gritty’ ballet drama’s entire season on Nov. 8. The cabler will also use the same simultaneous release strategy for the third and final season of Da Vinci’s Demons on Oct. 24.
Flesh and Bone was originally envisioned as an ongoing (renewable) series before Starz decided it would be better served as what it described as a “limited series”
Of course, ‘limited series’ actually means short, renewable seasons, but Starz’ description of Flesh and Bone leaned more towards a ‘limited-run’ (one and done) series.
Terminology aside, the entire season release doesn’t officially confirm Flesh and Bone‘s cancellation, but given that the same approach is being used to burn-off the already cancelled Da Vinci’s Demons, the cabler does appear to be tip-toeing on the show’s graveyard, whilst leaving just enough space for a reversal.
That is to say Starz could always decide to renew Flesh and Bone for Season 2 should the show prove more successful than it clearly expects – but it would be a long shot, even in a world where NBC inexplicably renews Aquarius.
