Production has temporarily stopped on the fifth and final season of TNT’s Falling Skies following the death of a security guard on Monday.
Per Deadline, the worker was killed after an unattended truck rolled down a hill and pinned him against a tree.
Scott McCloy, spokesman for WorkSafeBC, British Columbia’s Workers’ Compensation Board, which is investigating the accident, said:
“A five-ton truck parked on a 6% slope had been left unattended. The vehicle tailgate was lowered for off-loading of equipment. The truck rolled backwards down the slope and the deceased worker was caught between the tailgate and the tree.”
TNT spokeswoman Eileen Quast said:
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic event, and on behalf of the producers and TNT, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family of the security guard.”
The fifth season of the alien survival drama will air summer 2015, bringing the series to a close.
