The overarching objective for the 2nd Mass this season is to get to Charleston. Sure, they’ve “been promised paradise before,” but what could go wrong this time?
“Terry comes in [to the show] towards the end of the season. Charleston, South Carolina, where they’re rebuilding society in some fashion, becomes a bit of a Mecca destination for us. Everybody entertains different fantasies about what that civilisation’s going to look like and what creature comforts may be waiting for them, and what promises of hope and survival could be there…”
Promises that don’t quite turn out how they imagined, according to Wyle, who goes on to reveal that Tom and O’Quinn’s character have a shared backstory:
“And then we get there – not to give anything away, but it’s not quite what we imagined. Terry’s there and he’s taken on a leadership role with those survivors. It comes to pass that he and Tom have quite a significant backstory together, so it’s a meeting up of two old friends.”
