Does Heroes Have A Fork In It?

UPDATE: Heroes is officially TOAST. Cry me a time-travelling river.

Will it stay or will it go, either way just put us out of our misery already.

The future of NBC’s Heroes has been up in the air for some time now. Creatively I lost interest in the show a long time ago, and my forays back haven’t given me any reason to change mind. Now, according to Vulture, it looks as though the NBC execs are coming to the same opinion as speculation grows that the show is set to be officially canceled in Monday’s upfront announcement.

Of course, not everyone will want to see the show end and I can I appreciate that as a fan of other serialized TV shows. But personally speaking, I don’t think Heroes ever really recovered from that first season finale. Everything seemed to unravel from that point.

However, if this is to be the end of Heroes, there’s talk that NBC might fund “a two – or four hour movie event to give some finality to the franchise”. I would be more willing to watch a Heroes movie wrap because even if it’s a disaster I could get back those few hours of my life easier than an entire season. We’ll see what happens.
