Showcase has unsurprisingly renewed Continuum for a 13- episode second season.
Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media, expressed her joy in a press release:
“We are proud to green-light such a prolific ratings hit and original series for a second season, and to continue Kiera’s journey through time for our dedicated viewers.”
The serial-procedural follows Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), a cop from the year 2077 who winds up in present-day along with a group of criminals known as Liber8. Unable to get back to her own time, Kiera must work with her unwitting partner detective Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster) and tech whizz Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen), to prevent Liber8 from changing the future and destroying any chance she has of getting home.
Having carved out a solid base from which to build, the 13-episode second season –which begins production in Vancouver in 2013 — will hopefully see the show move from to strength to strength.
UK viewers will also be able to catch Continuum on Syfy from September 27.
UPDATE: Following the Season 2 pickup in Canada, Continuum is set to air in the US on Syfy.

“Continuum” continues. Good news. I enjoyed S1, and how about all those familiar faces? Is there ANY show that Brian Markinson hasn’t appeared in (and needless to say, he’s slated to appear in the pilot of “Arrow”)

This Canadian show has impressed me so much. It is so much better than most US series today. So glad we in the UK are getting the second series!

This show is really great, I’ve enjoyed season 1 and now can’t wait for season 2. 2013 seems so far even if its only less than a month away ! I can’t wait, episode 10 left me hanging there … Great job, tbh I didn’t expect a Canadian show to be this good …

The pilot episode was good enough to leave me wanting more. And I didn’t fall asleep as I did during “The River” pilot–a definite plus. Glad that this series is now being broadcast in the states.
