In an update from our earlier post, US and international viewers of the seriable screen can now watch the full, unrestricted, pilot episode of NBC‘s Awake. Watch it here..

UPDATE: Looks like NBC have restricted the international availability of the episode since we made this post.

In an interesting move, the peacock has made the Awake pilot available globally ahead of its March 1st premiere. Again, they must be super-confident to release it in this way. It also suggests awareness that the high-concept storytelling (the show plays out across parallel dreams) might benefit from an early-release, allowing intrigued viewers extra time to hop on board, process and spread the word (hopefully positive).

Grab a glass of something, sit back and relax/engage as you watch Awake Episode 1 below (or bookmark this page and come back later). And remember..which is which?:

Thanks for the heads-up, it seems they may have made it global by mistake and have since (a few hours later) restricted international access.

I watched this episode online today. The concept is really intriguing and the acting very good. To me, the jumps between crime scenes/investigations (depending on the color of Michael’s rubber band du jour) got pretty confusing and I’m still not sure how catching the taxi-driver killer led to solving the kidnapping. I’ll probably watch it again on premier night. Essentially, the writers will have to come up with 2 complete story lines for each episode and then figure out how to commingle them. Seems like quite a task. The ongoing dream/reality/dream scenes with the wife, son and psychiatrists will presumably provide continuity from one episode to the next, but will that be enough to make the show a Seriable candidate?

I’m looking forward to your Observations, Roco.

I completely agree. the concept is good, but I was never sure where he was, the son’s side or the wife’s side. Also, like u said I did not understand the crime solving part. I told my daughter the same thing. this is very complicated whoever came up with this idea better get their act together. the coming and going is not good. I think they should stay with one side for the whole episode and then next episode go back to the other side. Only FRINGE can do 2 worlds in one episode without the audience getting lost!!!haha!!!

that was pretty darn awesome. i see how it can become serialized by doing an ongoing story about what actually happened the night of the accident and how his mind is actually working. maybe like a “someone was behind the accident” type deal

James, you’re probably right about the ““someone was behind the accident” type deal.” If that’s the direction they’re going, it would explain why the accident report showed he’d been drinking while he insists he was not.

well, yeah, i feel like if they don’t do something like that for an overarching mystery that takes up most of the show, than Awake will just be another crime drama with a twist. God knows we alreads have plenty of those.

FYI – TV Guide says you’re right!

“I just watched the Awake pilot online, and I can’t wait for more. Any teases? — Eric
ADAM: Although the second episode continues to pursue the show’s basic question — whether Detective Britten’s wife or son survived a terrible car accident — it also offers a twist that could change the entire scope of the show. I’ll just say this: The crash was almost certainly no accident.”
