American Horror Story writer Tim Minear has revealed details for Jessica Lange and Adam Levine‘s Season 2 characters.
We already know that AHS’s second season will follow a whole different serialized story from Season 1, with Lange’s character playing the head of an institution for the criminally insane, set in the 1960’s.
Now Minear has unveiled more insights into her character. Speaking to MTV News, he said:
“She’s not playing this kind of ersatz Tennessee Williams character this time. She’s playing something that’s a little more East Coast, a little more patrician.”
Indeed, Lange’s Season 2 backstory offers new texture for the character:
“She’s playing a nun. She’s playing an administrator of a facility. It’s different. In this instance, she’s a bride of Christ.”
As for Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine who will play one of “The Lovers,” Minear offered:
“Let’s say that Adam’s character is kind of a nod to contemporary sensibilities, as opposed to something from the mid-century.”
Intriguingly, Minear also said that the murder house from Season 1 could well make an appearance in Season 2. “I wouldn’t rule anything out,” he noted.
