From the network that broke a man bad and initiated the zombie apocalypse, AMC are reaching into the sci-fi realm with Thunderstruck, a new pilot from Paul Harris Boardman and David Eick.

The Hook: Mysterious UFOs start cropping up all over the world.

The Setting: The show is set in the small town of Great Falls, Montana, and follows its citizens at they try to deal with the strange goings-on.

There’s obviously not much to go on at the moment, but with Falling Skies focusing on the survival aspects of alien invasion, and Syfy’s The Communion Letters seemingly centered on abductions and close encounters, it would be nice if Thunderstruck offered something different.

Paul Harris Boardman and Scott Derrickson are writing the pilot script. Scott Derrickson will direct the pilot script and executive produce alongside Paul Harris Boardman and David Eick. We don’t yet have a production schedule for the pilot.

We’ll keep you posted on the developments of Thunderstruck.

Lots of mysterious UFOs appearing all over the world sounds like the recent TV show, V. I sure hope Thunderstruck is a heck of a lot better!

Have these people done TV/movies before?

I would like to see a TV show that really sets up it’s own world and rules. Even if it wears it’s influences proudly on it’s sleeve, it eventually manages through the progress of one season and more likely multiple seasons to develop it’s own language.
Much like “Dark Skies” was doing.
Hopefully the studio and distributors will have faith and let the show have time to grow … if it’s any good at all that is XD
