John Noble, who played Walter Bishop in the recently-departed series, appears to be near the top of the potential list after Wyman followed up on his earlier comment at Comic-Con by hinting his plans to TV.com:
“There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about Fringe in some way or form, and I keep in touch with everybody and of course I want to bring them all back. All I’ve ever said is it’s gotta be worthy, if you bring a John Noble back, you better do something pretty good.”
Previously, Noble admitted to being in discussion with Bad Robot elder JJ. Abrams about possibly starring in an upcoming project. Whether that project was Almost Human, and whether anything materializes, certainly remains to be seen, but the Robot likes to keep it in the family.
An actor of Noble’s caliber (and indeed the Fringe cast in general) would surely elevate a promising series which already bears a thematic resemblance to Fringe. It’s encouraging to hear that if the stars do align, any Fringe arrivals will (hopefully) step into a role of substance.
