[tps_title]#1: BREAKING BAD (Season 5B)[/tps_title]
“I want this”
Putting together a final season for a popular TV show isn’t easy. Just ask Scott Buck. Creating the final stretch of episodes for a TV show that’s already considered to be one of the, if not the best show ever, and somehow turning it into the best season of said TV show? Impossible.
Vince Gilligan and his brilliant team of writers, directors, actors, cinematographers and – um – clothing people did it. What started out as a small cable drama turned into the one show everyone worshipped at the watercooler. And deservedly so. From the hilarious meth-fueled Star Trek discussion, to the To’hajiilee showdown, to Walt’s faked and heartfelt confessions to the dramatic machine gun massacre, it’s clear that the producers of the show did their absolute best to go out on a high note.
Season 5B of Breaking Bad is the part of the show where everything starts to fall apart, and when things fall apart on this show, they don’t ever get back to normal. That, among many other things, is where the show outshines all others: it’s not afraid to rake risks, and it knows exactly what sacrifices to make to tell the story as it wants to be told. The entire premise of Breaking Bad is about change, and the show stays true to that promise to the very end. The dead don’t come back to life, and the statue of Ozymandias will remain wrecked forever… but the name of Walter White will never be forgotten. All hail the King of television!
