[tps_title]#2: GAME OF THRONES (Season 3)[/tps_title]
“Chaos is a ladder”
The decision to split the third book of the A Song Of Ice And Fire saga into two seasons worked out well: season 3 of Game Of Thrones is as epic as ever, and even more deadly. Those who do not care for Meereenese knots or watching skin getting torn off might not enjoy the show much, but it remains a treat for pretty much everyone else. More airtime means more time to get into the minds of the characters, and that in turn means we get to appreciate the many faces of the huge cast even more.
There was plenty to marvel at this year: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau grabbed his chance to shine as the murderous Jaime Lannister, who got to show his more sympathetic side when Karma finally caught up with him. The Stark children continued to make slow but good progress, with fascinating new friends and foes added to their respective storylines. Daenerys Targaryen now spends her time burning great cities and taking what is “rightfully” hers; a great improvement to her storyline from last year. All that’s not even mentioning the traumatizing “Red Wedding”; the death of two fan favorites was as horrifying on screen as it must have been on page, 13 years ago. New players have entered the Game, and all bets are off on who makes it out alive in future seasons. Bring on that Winter!
