Kiefer Sutherland has ruled himself out of 24 Season 10.
Jack Bauer survived 24: Live Another Day, with FOX neither renewing or cancelling the series with an eye on a potential Season 10 at some point in the future. However, Sutherland tells the Telegraph that last summer’s event series was his last appearance in the franchise:
“Me, I don’t see going back to it. We had set out to do 12 episodes to end the show and deal with some of the past history of the show. It was also an irresistible opportunity to go shoot in England. So for all of those reasons it made sense to do that last season.”
There have seen suggestions that 24 could continue without Sutherland, though not all fans would be happy with a Bauer-free scenario. Still, Sutherland hasn’t completely closed the door on 24:
“But I think I said the same thing at the end of season 8 so I would hate to be held to that.”
24 remains the only serialized show currently in limbo from the 2013-14 season, courtesy of its timespan-friendly event series format and an apparent willingness from Fox and the producers to bring the franchise back in the future.
