We already featured the awesome character cards for The Walking Dead, AMC’s new zombie series. Today we’ve got some hi-res versions that provide even more detail on the characters from this much anticipated series. Hit the jump to view them all!
The hi-res scans were picked up at Comic-Con and include descriptions for each character – look out for the snippets below each scan as they provide interesting insight on our band of survivors (may contain mild spoiler details):
Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) – A small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies.
Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) – After his boss Rick is shot in a firefight, this deputy rises to the challenge of being in charge even protecting survivors in a zombie onslaught but he is less than happy when his boss returns and becomes the sort of defacto leader of the group.
Andrea (Laurie Holden) – her sister dies early on and she goes from beauty queen and miss priss of the group to scarred and broken. She has the best marksman ship of any of the survivors.
Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) – The son of Rick Grimes who is missing along with his mother Lori.
Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) – The wife of Rick and mother to Carl. She finds a little solace in Shane.
Glenn, a scavenger for the band of survivors. He wants to be a leader one day and is always proving himself
Amy (Emma Bell) – sister to Andrea…pretty and young but insecure about the zombie apocalypse but has relied heavily on her sister for protection.
Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) – typical grunty old dude with a gun. He hooks with the young vivacious Andrea
Zombies do not notice humans who smell like zombies, such as when a survivor rubs “zombie grime” on their body or stays in the vicinity of severely disabled zombies. Also, a zombie who is around a human for long enough will become acclimated to them and generally stop attacking.
The Walking Dead Will premiere this October during AMC’s Frightfest.
These character scans are an effective piece of marketing by AMC. Not only do they look absolutely awesome, but they give those who may be unfamiliar with the original comic series a way of getting to know the characters. The descriptions are particularly useful – already I’m intrigued by the zombies attack methods and character dynamics, notably Shane and Rick’s.
I may not have said this already, but seriously, I cannot wait for The Walking Dead to begin. Unleash the zombies!
